The Crystals That Changed Everything by Tracy Lee

In 2021, my life shifted in a big way.
You know those moments that crack you open—where everything you thought you knew about yourself, your path, your future… suddenly feels different? That was me. And at the beginning of that change I found myself in Sedona, Arizona searching for healing.
As soon as I started coming into town, something in me softened. The air felt quieter. My shoulders dropped. I didn’t realize how tightly I’d been holding everything.
And then it happened.
A crystal shop practically jumped out in front of me.
I remember thinking, I’ll stop by sometime this week. After checking into my hotel for the week, there was a pull to go back to this store—like a gentle (but firm) nudge from the universe.
Nope. Today is the day.
So I got back in my car and headed there.
The second I walked through the door, I felt overwhelmed. There were crystals everywhere—shelves, tables, bowls, clusters, towers—more rocks than I could even process.
And I had this hilarious, honest thought:
Why the hell am I in a rock shop?
I stood there for a second, took a deep breath, and talked myself through it.
It’s okay. Take it one section at a time.
That’s when I saw it.
Something green. I didn’t know what it was yet, but I knew I wanted it. I picked it up and decided I was buying it.
And then, as I was holding that stone, something else caught my eye—flashy, shimmering, almost like it was winking at me.
So I grabbed that one too.
I wandered the shop with those two stones in my hands, still trying to understand what I was doing and why it felt so important. And I remember thinking, If I’m going to buy crystals, I should probably buy a book too.
So I did.
At checkout, the girl packed everything up, and I left with my little bag—still not fully sure what I’d just started.
Back at the hotel, I opened it.
Inside the baggie with my crystals were two small pieces of paper, tucked in like little secret messages.
I unfolded the first one.
Then the second.
And I just started bawling.
Because somehow—without knowing what I was looking for, without understanding what I needed—I had chosen the exact stones that matched what my heart was going through.
One was for deep emotional healing.
The other was for transformation and protection.
It felt impossible and undeniable at the same time.
Like my soul had walked into that shop before my mind could catch up.
Those two crystals were malachite and labradorite.
And they didn’t just support me through a hard season.
They woke something up in me.
They are the reminder that healing is real. That transformation is possible. That sometimes the thing you’re searching for finds you first.
Looking back now, I can see it clearly:
Those two stones were the beginning.
They were the spark.
They were the first “yes.”
And they are, without a doubt, the crystals that changed everything.
