Event Description
In a world guided by calendars, deadlines, and expectations, we are often encouraged to move forward before we are truly ready—especially at the beginning of a new year. Yet the body and the heart may still be resting beneath the surface, quietly preparing.
Between Rest and Rising is an invitation to honor a slower, wiser rhythm. It is a space to listen inward, to remember the seeds beneath the frost, and to rest fully in the sacred pause before bloom.
This gathering is devoted to stillness, gestation, and gentle awakening—without urgency, without pressure, and without forcing what wants to emerge naturally.
The Ceremony
The ceremonial portion will be lovingly guided by Laura, beginning with the sharing of ceremonial cacao, a heart-opening plant ally offered with intention, respect, and reverence.
Together, we will hold a collective intention rooted in rest, patience, and inner listening. From this shared energetic field, each participant will be invited to set a personal intention, supported by the gentle, loving medicine of Abuela Cacao.
This is a participatory ceremony, and you are warmly welcome to:

chant or sing medicine songs

bring a simple hand instrument (drum, shaker, rattle)

contribute through presence, silence, or deep listening
A central altar will hold our collective prayers and intentions.
You are welcome to bring:

an offering (seeds, flowers, crystals, or symbolic items)

and/or an object you wish to charge with the energy of the ceremony
Sound Healing Journey
As the gathering gently transitions toward integration, Jono will guide a deeply restorative sound healing bath, weaving together a rich array of instruments to harmonize the frequencies of the room and the body.
This is a time to rest, receive, and integrate—allowing the nervous system to soften and the heart to settle into what has been opened.
Preparation & Practical Notes

Please avoid alcohol and recreational drugs for 24–48 hours prior to the ceremony.

Eat lightly or fast on the day of the event to receive the fullest benefit from the cacao medicine.

Hydrate well before, during, and after the ceremony, as cacao is a natural diuretic.

We will be seated on the floor—please dress comfortably.

DFW Crystals provides yoga mats, floor pillows, and blankets for your comfort.

Jono Rang is a well-established practitioner, respected community leader, and skilled facilitator of sacred ceremonial spaces.
Over the past several years, he has dedicated his life to supporting others on their paths to physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Jono specializes in Thai bodywork, Reiki, and sound healing.
His certifications include cupping therapy, Thai bodywork, EMDR, somatic therapy, Reiki Level 3 Master Teacher, and Lomi Lomi massage.
Jono firmly believes that true healing must come from within. He works collaboratively with his clients to uncover and address deep, unprocessed trauma and stored emotions held in the body. By integrating his expertise in bodywork, sound healing, and somatic therapy, Jono helps clients return to a sense of wholeness and well-being.
Outside of his healing work, Jono enjoys meditating, walking, spending time at the beach, hiking in the mountains, reading, journaling, ecstatic dance, attending local sweat lodges, and supporting other community leaders by participating in conscious events.
Laura Santa Anna is a visionary healer with more than 20 years of experience in the holistic healing arts. She has developed her own signature healing techniques and is highly regarded for her expertise in facilitating cacao ceremonies.
Blending the transformative power of voice and sound, Laura skillfully guides individuals on profound journeys of self-discovery and spiritual healing. Her intuitive and compassionate presence creates a nurturing space where clients can reconnect with their inner selves, release what no longer serves them, and embrace deep, lasting transformation.
