Every tarot reader begins in the same place: getting to know the cards.
In this introductory class, you’ll learn the foundations of tarot while beginning to develop a personal relationship with your deck. Rather than simply memorizing meanings, you’ll explore how symbolism, intuition, and your own experiences can help the cards become more meaningful and easier to interpret.
You’ll learn:

The structure of the tarot deck, including the Major and Minor Arcana

Common tarot myths and misconceptions

Personal reading guidelines and different approaches to interpretation

The meanings of the four suits and numbers as foundational building blocks

How to begin developing your intuition alongside traditional card meanings

How to create a simple daily tarot practice through journaling and one-card pulls
This class is designed to give you a strong foundation while helping you build confidence in your own intuitive connection with the cards.
You don’t need to know everything before you begin. You simply need to be willing to explore, observe, and let the cards begin speaking to you in your own way.
This class will use the classic Rider-Waite Tarot deck as the foundation for learning. For consistency and ease of instruction, students are encouraged to bring a Rider-Waite based deck to class.
This experience will be held in person at DFW Crystals located at 901 W Parker Rd. Ste 121 Plano, TX 75023.

About the Facilitator:
Lavanga is a Texas native and lifelong student of holistic healing, spirituality, and the wisdom traditions that connect mind, body, and spirit. Her journey began in her teens through the exploration of vegetarianism, yoga, and metaphysical studies, eventually leading her into a lifelong path of intuitive development and healing arts. Reading tarot professionally since 1987, Lavanga brings nearly four decades of experience, insight, and compassionate guidance to her work.
Over the years, she has studied and practiced Reiki, massage therapy, Ayurveda, astrology, aromatherapy, and Vedic philosophy, while also serving as a practicing priestess and interfaith leader. Most recently, she completed death doula training through Going with Grace, deepening her work in spiritual care, transition support, and sacred presence. Her teaching style blends practical knowledge with intuitive wisdom, creating a grounded and welcoming environment for students of all experience levels.
